6/30/2011 An email from a friend. Can this be possible?

No one has been able to explain to me why young men and women who serve in the U.S. Military for 20 years, risking their lives protecting freedom, only get 50% of their pay at retirement. While Politicians, who hold their political positions in the safe confines of the capital, protected by these same men and women, receive full pay retirement after serving ONE term. It just does not make any sense.

Monday they learned that the staffers of Congress family members are exempt from having to pay back student loans. This will get national attention if news networks will broadcast it. When you add this to the below, just where will all of it stop?

35 States file lawsuit against the Federal Government.
Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.

This is an idea that we should address if in fact it is true.

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

If each person who receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This following proposal is one that really should be passed around.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States."

I never really liked the terminology "Old Person" but this makes me feel better about it.

OLD PERSON PRIDE

I'm passing this on as I did not want to be the only old person receiving it. Actually, it's not a bad thing to be called, as you will see.

• Old People are easy to spot at sporting events; during the playing of the National Anthem.

• Old People remove their caps and stand at attention and sing without embarrassment. They know the words and believe in them.

• Old People remember World War II, Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Normandy and Hitler. They remember the Atomic Age, the Korean War, The Cold War, the Jet Age and the Moon Landing. They remember the 50 plus Peacekeeping Missions from 1945 to 2005, not to mention Vietnam!!!

• If you bump into an Old People on the sidewalk he will apologize. If you pass an Old Person on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a lady. Old People trust strangers and are courtly to women.

• Old People hold the door for the next person and always, when walking, make certain the lady is on the inside for protection.

• Old People get embarrassed if someone curses in front of women and children and they don't like any filth or dirty language on TV or in movies.

• Old People have moral courage and personal integrity. They seldom brag unless it's about their children or grandchildren.

• It's the Old People who know our great country is protected, not by politicians, but by the young men and women in the military serving their country.

This country needs Old People with their work ethic, sense of responsibility, pride in their country and decent values.

We need them now more than ever.

Arizona Illegal Alien Standoff!

According to the Media, Representatives for the Prez OBAMI stated “We are trying to focus on the illegal Aliens that are CRIMINALS” well, this may be a dumb question but, aren’t all Illegal Aliens CRIMINALS? They after all they are in fact, here ILLEGALLY right? The ridicules, incredibly stupid comments continue to SPEW out of the White House and the incredibly stupid Media! Do the reporters not proof or pre-read their stories? I cannot be the only one to catch these ridicules statements!

AOL 6/15/2011: Oil rebounds above $95 amid Greece debt fears

Based on the ridicules notion that oil has anything to do with the price of fuel in our market, oil closed $4.00 per barrel yesterday and gasoline climbed .20c per gallon to $3.75 per gallon in this area! As time goes on the Media and the gas distributors continue to play this game with our livelihoods! And I continue to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I’ll just say one thing. If the Founding Fathers were still alive they would have a fit looking at what they fought for! This country is in complete turmoil and for some reason “We the people” cannot seem to things together enough to control this idiotic CIRCUS! Well good luck to us all! We are going to need it for this!

Oil rises as OPEC maintains production level

NEW YORK -With their economies slowed by high energy costs, the U.S. and other countries were hoping that OPEC would raise production levels and bring down the price of oil.

Really? The United States uses WHAT, 22% Foreign oil? What a bunch of CRAP!

Kelly, and all my friends and family, My son is home safe and sound! That is more then a Mother and Father could ever ask for! God Bless us and the bravery of all our Soldiers for if not for them, WHO KNOWS! I love you my Son!

As his Father, I am relatively sure I have earned the right to say these things about him. As my Son and a Brave Soldier, I am POSITIVE he has EARNED the right to hear them.
  Lord knows the Government doesn't deserve credit for his safe return!

A Pin Drop.....

At a time when our president (Obama, Clinton & Many Other Liberals) and other politicians tend to apologize for our country's prior actions, here's a refresher on how some of our former patriots handled negative comments about our country.

JFK'S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when DeGaule decided to pull out of NATO. DeGaule said he wanted all US Military out of France as soon as possible. Intend to do, bomb them?"

Stood up and replied quietly: "Our carriers have three
Hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are
Nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to
Shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to
Feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand
Gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a
Dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and
From their flight deck. We have eleven such ships;

How many does France have?"

A U.S. Navy Admiral

Was attending a naval conference that included
Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French
Navies At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large
Group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries.
Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a
French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many
Languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, "Why is it that
We always have to speak English in these conferences rather than
Speaking French?"

Without hesitating,

The American Admiral replied, "Maybe it's because the
Brit's, Canadians, Aussie's and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't
Have to speak German."

THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE...

Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane.

At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport

in his carry on.

"You have been to France before, monsieur?"

The customs officer asked sarcastically.

Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.
"Then you should know enough to have your passport ready."
The American said, "The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."
"Impossible.. Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France !"
The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he
Quietly explained, ''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in
1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchmen
To show a passport to."
